Guillermo Humberto Larios Carrion

Humberto in his repair shop
27-year-old Humberto was born in Leon where he lived until he moved to El Sauce with his family at age 9. He and his two siblings spent a large part of their childhood working with their father learning his trade, fixing electronics. Every morning before school, he would work with his father repairing broken televisions and other electronic devices.

After finishing high school, Humberto went to study for 4 years at a polytechnic institute in León where he further developed his skills as an electronics technician. Now, he has taken over his father’s business, repairing technology such as televisions, stereos, DVD players, microwaves, and other home appliances, fixing 5 or 6 every day. Humberto enjoys his work very much; he likes when the problem is challenging and he needs to figure out what is wrong. For him, every day is a learning experience.

Humberto’s U$200 loan from Enlace helped him to purchase spare parts for fixing electronics as well as additional tools to replace his old ones. He enjoys knowing how to better manage his cash flow thanks to Enlace’s training. Before, he said he often did not know what happened to some of the money he made, but now, with good bookkeeping, he has better control of his income. In the future, Humberto is considering applying for another loan to improve the infrastructure of his shop.
