Manuel de Jesus Centeno Lopez

Manuel with some watches and wallets
Manuel grew up in the city of Leon where he attended up to his second year of high school. After that, he worked for a construction company for 9 years. Unfortunately, he developed health problems from the construction job so he needed to switch careers. It was difficult for Manuel to find another job so he began selling CDs and continued to do so for 6 years.  When he met his girlfriend Aracely, he decided to move to El Sauce to live with her and her daughter.

When he moved, Manuel needed to find a new job. At first it was a challenge for him to find a work until one friend gave him the idea to sell high quality watches, as there is not much competition in El Sauce. Now, Manuel sells his products on the streets of El Sauce and finds most of his customers at the bus station. He sells many watches for both men and women including brands such as Seiko, QQ, and Casio.

Wanting to grow his business, Manuel applied for a U$200 loan from Enlace in order to expand the variety the products he sells to include wallets and knives. The wallets are quickly becoming one of his best selling products. He is grateful that Enlace’s business training taught him how to properly register expenses and profits to keep track of his cash flow. In the future, Manuel plans on applying for another loan in order to increase his supply of products for the holiday season when sales are highest.
